I'm Amber, and yes, I absolutely do need another plant.

Pothos.  Peperomia.  Purple Heart.

You name is, and it's likely been a guest in my home (or an unfortunate victim of accidental plant murder).

Nature is something that I always seem to come back to when I think about what brings me joy and respite in life, and the past year has again reminded me how transformative a relationship with nature can be.  It teaches us lessons without a hidden agenda, showing up fiercely authentic, full of beauty, heartbreak, splendor, and miracles.

Reminding us that a Dandelion is only a weed because we label it as such, begging us to question the labels we've given ourselves.

Asking us to tend to our own needs as carefully as we care for our plants, giving them the proper environment to thrive in.

Showing us that sometimes, as tough as it is, we need to stop watering flowers that are never going to survive, and tend to the garden that so willingly blooms for us, much like we often pour our energy into relationships, situations, or friends that aren't helping us grow, and ignoring the beautiful ones that have been there all along.

The lessons are vast, and the takeaways many, but

at the end of the day, it's simple: Green things make me happy.  Having little life forces spread throughout my home brings me joy.  Creating art with nature is an outlet that I am grateful for, and I hope that it can bring Joy to you as well.

Grow at your own pace, and go drink some water; your finicky fiddle leaf fig probably isn't the only one who is dehydrated.

(And yes, you absolutely deserve that new plant.

 Go for it.)
